Profile

    Practicing, exhibiting artist.

    Solid teaching experience with a career spanning more than 20 years in the elementary and secondary sectors.

    Served as the curriculum coordinator liaison for the Arts for Quebec Association of Independent School schools.

    Coordinated development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs in the Arts for QAIS schools.

    Engaged as an Arts Pedagogical Consultant for the Kativik School Board.

    Mentored all novice Arts teachers and visual art student teachers while employed at Queen of Angel Academy.

    Presents and attends multiple conferences, keeping abreast of research and new developments regarding teaching and learning styles with a particular interest in evaluation of the Arts.

    Proven leadership, committed volunteer for people of all ages both inside and outside the field of education.

    Known for being resourceful, flexible, dedicated, enthusiastic, working well independently and in group settings.

2014-2015 Enseignante en Arts Plastiques et Arts Multi-Médias (en Français) COLLEGE SAINTE ANNE DE LACHINE, Lachine QC (Maternity leave replacement.)
-Organized & obtained a grant whereby all students in Secondary Four Visual Arts worked with renowned Quebec painter Claire Desjardins. Students collaborated in groups of four to make painted murals inspired by various Abstract Artists. Final installation will cover 14 x 60 feet.
-Coordinated portrait workshops for each Secondary Four class with professional TV photographer Robert Ferron.

2012          Visual Arts Pedagogical Consultant, COMMISSION SCOLAIRE KATIVIK, Kuujjuaq QC. (Special one-time Government grant.)
-Customized workshops for teachers (generalists, resource teachers as well as arts teachers), presented the Quebec Education Programme document as it pertained to the Visual Arts, created documents specific to their needs, followed up via email, advised teachers on techniques, materials, methodology and assessment. Authored and compiled an art teaching guide.

2000-2014 Fine Arts and New Media Teacher, Department Head, QUEEN OF ANGELS ACADEMY, Dorval QC. (School closed permanently in June 2014.)
-Mentored all new teachers in the Arts Department with pedagogy, rubrics, and assessment.
-Coordinated the use of digital materials for all teachers (video cameras, digital voice recorders, etc).
-Supervised an Art Committee (murals, drama sets, etc.)
-Provided Cross-curricular support for other departments.
